My life has been a battlefield. My parents are both immigrants, so survival for them back than was awfully hard. Nonetheless, my parents promised me that my life would be better than theirs. For what I remember, this was the most painful thing to hear. It’s heartbreaking to me because my parents work so hard, just so that I can be successful in life. Instead of thanking my parents, I’ve put so much stress on them. I really don’t mean to. My parent’s just don’t understand me sometimes. Who I am right now is not because I want to be this person, but because people make me who I am. I don’t usually like talking about my problems because I know that others have been through rougher things. Justin’s grandpa says, “Nothing great ever came that easy”. In this chapter, Justin talks about people bringing him down. Before Justin was famous, he had YouTube videos of him making covers for his favorite artists. Of course, there were always people that didn’t appreciate his music, and this was his down point in life. Justin’s grandfather would tell him this powerful quote, and Justin becomes more confident. I can relate to this quote because I believe that happiness can only be achieved if I work hard right now. My life may not be easy, but I’m glad that I have people that love me trying to push me to do the best that I can.
